The notification from the Office of the Ministry of Education aims to further implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and, in combination with the actual situation of education, to enforce the Healthy China Action (2019-2030) and promote the implementation of the Opinions of the Ministry of Education and Four Other Departments on Comprehensively Strengthening and Improving Health Education in Schools in the New Era. Specifically, the goals of this work include, but are not limited to:
- Establishing and improving the school emergency education system to ensure the popularization of emergency knowledge and skills.
- Promoting the configuration and use of emergency facilities in schools to enhance campus emergency rescue capabilities.
- Strengthening cooperation between schools and medical institutions to build a school emergency education network.
- Conducting various forms of emergency education training activities to enhance the self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities of teachers and students.
To achieve the above goals, the Ministry of Education requires each pilot school to:
- Develop a detailed implementation plan based on actual conditions, clarifying work objectives, tasks, and steps.
- Organize emergency knowledge lectures, skill training, and practical drills to ensure the effectiveness of the activities.
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of emergency education and promptly adjust and optimize work strategies.
- Strengthen publicity and guidance to create a good atmosphere for emergency education, enhancing awareness and support from teachers, students, and the broader community.
The issuance of this notification reflects the state’s emphasis on school emergency education. It is hoped that through the conduct of the pilot project, experiences can be accumulated and examples provided for the nationwide promotion of school emergency education.
